warez sites are usless ahlf the time, often there links are broken and I found delphi 5 for only £110 thats around $250 i've alread orderd that and 2 books from amazon, bout time I started learning

I know there's a free Delphi compiner out there somethere. I've seen it/may actually have it but don't remember.

I have Visual Studio 6 (VB 6, VC++, etc) and Delphi Enterprise Edition y0.

Graal is made in Delphi 4 Standard version,
3 years ago it was 70$ so it shouldn't be
too expensive :-)
The good thing is that making windows, buttons
etc. is very simple, so in that way it is similar to
visual basic. But the program is much faster
(almost as fast as C++) and it compiles the whole
Graal in less than 3 seconds, good for testing :-)

It's probably a good thing to start, you will
also find many components for Delphi on the
web (components - things you can put onto
windows like buttons or a DirectX control).

If you are a hardcore-programmer you might
need to switch, because Microsoft always releases
stuff for C++ first, also most source code for Linux
is C++, and if you want to make games for consoles
there are almost only C/C++ compilers.

Is Delphi hard to learn for people new at scripting?
