I've spoken with Quarius Rommyu about me being an EM, and he agreed with all of my ideas ..

.. I feel that I could do well to balance things out. Quarius wrote an e-mail to Stefan, I know he read it .. he never did tell me what he thought, though.

We don't need event items removed, we don't need a reset, what we need is a level-headed EM with the proper rights (item creation, player warping, self warping) to run events well, without corruption. I can guarantee you that I am your man for that job .. but I know I probably won't be given it, that's fine. I just wish SOMEONE would. If anyone at all, go to Ghost Pirate. He probably has more ideas than I do, even ..

I would think that Locke or GP would be excellent EM's along with myself although Locke and GP are still better at it i think

Everything I have, I worked VERY hard for, and they are all unobtainable, so if there was a reset, I would quit and so would many other people with event items and high levels, etc.

Well you'll more or less still switch over to the new "complete" server so its still a year wasted. Also people say they quit and they still come back so don't give me that bull****. Also even when I played I wanted a reset so don't tell me the only reason I want a reset is because I don't play. I don' play for a reason, and that reason is because Graal is currently in the trashcan, Stefan is not even trying to balance the game out....just adds on to more of the unbalanceness of the game.

How is it a year wasted when I WANT to do it (Switch over to a complete, or fully working and balanced server)? If I quit, it will be the end, I don't hang around, people should know that by now. When you played you didn't do much, just hung out on Pirate Island most of the time or whatever.

Satrek2000 05-31-2003 01:38 AM

Switching to another server, as well as leaving and coming back, are your decisions - you aren't forced to do so. A server reset would be forced, as you see that not everyone agrees with you.

Yeah but whats the difference between a Reset which offers a complete fully working and balanced server rather than switching? Ok then maybe you'd quit but not everybody else. I RolePlayed (new concept for some) most of the time while on Pirate Island.

How does a reset, in this point in time, offer a complete and full working and balanced server? It doesn't. Resetting would just cause a rucus and eventually we will just be back to where we started. I am sure that most people level 10+ (which is a lot of people nowadays) would quit, and the population of Graal Kingdoms would drop tremendously. People are already starting to quit and it's sad..

I never said there should be a reset in this point and time. Also people are leaving because Stefan is doing squat to balance and make Kingdoms more enjoyable, sure he has added horses, pets, trading, but that stuff gets old fast, there is no replay value in Graal, its just plain and boring and it gets repititive very fast.

Tim26 05-31-2003 04:57 PM

GP very well said especially doing the same things over and over, id rather spend 20 dollars a month and 50 dollars on another MMORPG

This thread is very anti-Graal Kingdoms... :\

Tim26, you're a *****. Your ideas are idiotic to say the least. There are always going to be missed opportunities in life, but you can't just go and make everyone start from scratch because you happened to miss out on something.

I do however, feel that GK would be better if everyone started over. But not for the same reasons. I feel that yeah, stuff is rather unbalanced... it's quite hard to have a balanced game when Stefan is busy developing things, Unix is busy managing things, and nobody is busy maintaining the actual balance of the game.

The biggest problem though, is the glitches/bugs from the past. The duping glitch, the fishing glitch, the alchemy glitch... These things screwed the server over big time. The people that took advantage of these glitches, became instantly strong or wealthy. So I mean yeah, glitches aren't fun at all, and this stuff should probably be tested more thoroughly... Like actually having a beta testing team on the debug server to try and screw up the new stuff as much as possible.

Also, something I hope they've learned not to do again, is releasing too much of something. For example, the treasure maps used to be quite easy to obtain. Now they are harder to obtain. The result? People that collected more treasure maps early on, had an easier time obtaining them, so they could sell them or level with them easier. It would have been better to first make them hard to obtain, then if people complained that they barely ever found the maps, then Stefan could adjust it so they dropped more often. Not the other way around.

Although I do have to agree that there haven't been many events lately. I used to hold events, and I can understand how hard it is to do. You think it's easy peasy and that you can just get on and say "tournament for cool prize!". No way possible. For one, you're going to get masses of PMs asking what the prize is, and if the prize isn't "good" (as in an elite weapon or armor) then people will complain and less people will show up for the event.

Then once you actually get people to the event, you have to handle all the people that are screwing the event up, because they are mad you aren't giving out better prizes, or they just like to cause trouble. Whatever the reason, people that mess with events really just make an EM's job unbearable. After handling the people (if possible) you hold the event, and then you have to judge it fairly, and even if you judge it fairly, there will always be people that complain and tell you that your event sucked.

There weren't many times I held events where everyone was happy. The only times that happened were when I gave out small prizes to all participants. I think the attitude of the players kind of upsets me, because of the fact that a lot of people just seem to be greedy and only care about getting stronger or richer. But that is the kind of atmosphere GK is, and unless it's changed, that's how it will stay.

I mean it's sad when people won't participate in an event, just because they aren't going to definitely win something out of it, or the prize isn't super great, they feel like they are wasting their time. When really, the entire point of the event is to just have fun and compete with others. People seem to forget that.

Satrek2000 06-01-2003 05:07 PM

Yes, the glitches did their part to unbalance the game - not so much as far as classes are concerned, but the time people are playing. But even so, there certainly are some who didn't profit from these bugs the way others did, so a reset would still be unfair in that respect.

Umm...Konidias, Balance is apart of development, Stefan should be busy developing balance. Balance has to do with the way things are, and how everything is played out. Things like Weapons, armors, skills, spells, classes, are unbalaced.

Why the hell are you calling me a moran just because you didnt like what i said before? Yes i do agree its very hard to hold events when others bother you through every step...

1) Your grammar, spelling, and typing skills are awful.
2) You're whining like a four year old.
3) All of the suggestions you have made are completely idiotic
4) You don't even no how to spell *****.

If you actually made a logical post, with GOOD ideas on how to improve the current situation, I wouldn't call you a *****. I would pat you on the back. But that is obviously not the case here.

Hell no, I worked a year+ for all my stuff. Also Stefan and unixmad both said there won't be a reset, ever. There will be a final server when it's in the 90% range of being done (although it will never fully be DONE since you can't complete a growing game, ever). Once a vast majority of the bugs are fixed and a lot more things are added, then the new server should pop up..

90% done = 90% of what they had in mind of "finished", i guess...

And Locke or Ghost Pirate (or me) as EM would be great.
Also, i hosted events for a speed+1 ring and Naginata of Ogma, and none annoyed me. Okay, my location was secret and only findable when you almost won the event, but hey, there's a minimap :\ still none was annoying. And there were 72 people online ^^ So not always people are annoying.

What we need, is RPing!!!
