Now I don't know if this is due to the fact that he works on graal 2002 debug (it probably is, actually), but a few days ago he told me that Stefan said he was allowed to share space with another private or hidden server, and he asked me what I felt about it. I said "I don't like the idea because you're going to run into some problems", but of course, it was not my decision to make. Stefan let him already, so what can I do? Scold him? It's Stefan's choice, not mine, not the PWA's choice either. I can just shake and nod and hope for the best, that he will let me on the server to at least test it before it goes public (luckily, I have access to renegade and I can go on and check progress out). But you've got another problem. Rob said he wants to release Renegade public within a week or so, so what's going to happen then? No, obviously he doesn't want to have his server public, so he'll probably go ask Stefan for a private on his own, and he'll skirt the PWA like other servers have. It's unfortunate, but that's how it goes, and it really dissapoints me. Just because you have connections or work directly below the game owners does not mean you should be entitled to special incentives. Like I said, no offense to PS or his server, but that's the unfortunate way business is conducted here. |
...
If you read the Last Post i said We are going to go through the PWA.
This is just temp. |

As a possible solution, perhaps the PWA could look over the team itself and decide how likely they are to create a good playerworld, then grant them a regularly-inspected private server to work with until either they finish the server or show themselves to be making slow enough progress for the thing to be aborted. |

1) Once a server goes private, the staff seem to think they can have all the time in the world and take twice as long as they would when they are under the gun. They also think that being a private server, they can do whatever they want, such as re-do the overworld or revamp this and that. 2) If Stefan actually let us do inspections on private servers (that means, giving us access to them) then that means we'd need some sort of autonomy, like laying down the law when necessary. It's no use for us to go on, say.. every 2 weeks and go "please hurry up and finish your server mister manager guy because we want you to even though we can't do anything about it" 3) There would have to be a limit of how many servers can be private and scripting at one time. Either you have x amount of private slots open and it works on a first come, first serve basis, or you STILL need some sort of minimum requirement so peolpe don't start sending in sloppy 5 level servers saying "oh, we're just going to do the stuff online" |
PWA would opperate A LOT better if they could actually vote on shutting servers down, right now they have no real power and no real guarrentee that stefan will listen to their reviews
