BTW it show's he is on RC...wouldn't corpse's IP range be in it seeing he has been getting hacked lately?

Think of a Sub7 as Microsoft NetMeeting. With an option checked, you can control the "victim's" computer. In NetMeeting and a Windows XP Home/Office option, you can do the same thing.

No, the second time Corpse was hacked, at first his name was set to "Disturbed Limit" in ASCII characters (I know this because Corpse is on my buddy list, and I had the playerlist open (As I always do, cause I'm FAQ), then he changed it to Corpse (Police Chief), but because Disturbed Limit was the origional name, it's safe to assume DL opened his own graal.exe, and therefore his usual name was already in the nickname box.

Do you know nothing about IP ranges, Googi?

Stop making yourself look more idiotic than you are.

R0b1n-NPC 09-22-2002 09:36 AM

Maybe corpse was having a bad day

konidias 09-22-2002 09:49 AM

Um, if Corpse got his pass taken again, he is becoming a security risk. I can't keep doing this over and over. If he can't keep his account safe, it would be best for him to not have the position on Graal that he has. :(

I was just pointing out that DL probably wasn't "overtaking" Corpse's computer or anything.

Perhaps evidence that he was getting Corpse's password through means other then a Sub7?

Neonight 09-22-2002 09:57 AM

Looks as if I was wrong.
I just talked to Disturbed Limit. Here's the conversation:

Never give out your password or credit card number in an instant message conversation. (top to bottom)

Tyler says:
Hey DL

Tyler says:
Ok

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
Neonight?

Tyler says:
Now let me get this straight

Tyler says:
Yup

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
Greetings Sir
Tyler says:
You sent Corpse Sub7, right?

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
Nope

Tyler says:
What was it, then?

Tyler says:
Oh yeah, do you mind if I post this convo on the forums, or would you rather me not?

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
heh

Tyler says:
You're basically a celebrity right now lol
Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
LOL

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
I umm.....Could not care less

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
I would consider this convo open source

Tyler says:
Alrighty

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
It is your desicion to do so

Tyler says:
Onto the questions:

Tyler says:
Why did you get Corpse?

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
Because he is insecure and the police chief

Tyler says:
How did you hack him? Nothing specific. Trojan? Telnet?

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
Heh. No hacking was even involved. And I was banned for not hacking. What I did was found out his email address and it was a hotmail account and it expired. Just like I did to Kamikaze Hawlor. heh.

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
So I haven't even hacked. All I did was sign up for an email address that expired

Tyler says:
But his IP range? How'd you get past that?

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
I didn't even log on to his RC

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
He's on RC because it's him o.o

Tyler says:
Then how could you walk around? Are IP ranges limited to the RC program or the client also?

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
Just the RC

Tyler says:
Alright then.

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
Client it don't matter :p

Tyler says:
Any last words of "wisdom" for your "fans?"

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
I was banned unjustly as every member of the graal community is responsible for their own account

Tyler says:
Alright

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
I think I should be unbanned as I didn't even hack...Only to prove a point

Tyler says:
What point?

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
A point to which account bumpertobumper was exploitable by an email address that didn't even exist at the time because it had expired

Tyler says:
Alright. Make the rest quick.

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
To all the admins that read this please consider thinking about it....I only proved insecuirty to Corpse.

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
insecurity*

Tyler says:
Done?

Ðisturbed £imit ¤Üñførgívêñ¤ says:
yea

Tyler says:
Alright posting.

Very easily done.

Googi 09-22-2002 10:15 AM

Haha, BS, if DL wanted to prove Corpse's insecurity, he should've pointed it out to Corpse. Or at the most gone on his account and said, "Hi, I'm DL, and I just proved Corpse's account is insecure, fix this".

Removing 90% of the police force was crossing the line.

zell12 09-22-2002 10:25 AM

All staff without a big password that is uneasy to guess, a virus scaner and a ip range set into their account should be fired/not hired. That would FIX all of this.

James 09-22-2002 10:32 AM

Do you think you could please mark out the bad word in that picture?

The blank level doesn't mean he is an RC, it means hes an admin =P
See his head icon?
It won't show the level (except for a split second) ever for an admin.

You ARE wrong. I know it means that, I have been staff so many times. It means he is on RC, plus I was on when he was on RC...

Loriel 09-22-2002 07:36 PM

Googi: Until the server has received the name the client entered at start screen, the player list will show the last used name. That you have seen Disturbed Limit on Ascii characters means only that he was on Corpse's account the last time it was connected.

Cheetos: If you are on RC and on Graal client the same time and someone else opens your client's profile, it shows the locally cached graal client profile with level and everything, but switches to RC's profile as soon as the server sends the "real" profile to the client.

Lyndzey 09-22-2002 07:52 PM

I think DL was telling the truth.

I didn't know that that email wasn't working for Corpse, so I sent the password to the email in the database. Corpse emailed me from a similiar email (like the beginning was the same), I sent him the password again and all was fine up until now.

So we will just have to set his email to the current one and change the password.
