i like it...with the exception of the NPC trees and NPC barrels...x.x
but i like the bridge...

The building is pretty nice I like that. Just the way it is although for a thief hide out I would go with a rundown look. I'm rating this in correlation with your story. A drought is why the water is low. If this is infact the case. There would be a stream bed (probably with sand tiles) with a small line of water going down it. Infact I think I'll make an example when I get home. The grass/sand tiles is all messed up yes you can use them in combination for a dimensional effect. But it looks like you just randomly slapped one or the other in place. it doesnt create any dimension to it the path just looks sloppy. I'm curious what those barrel peg things could possibly go into a story but we'll see. Over all I feel the level just isnt thought out very well to match the story. The drought just sounds like an excuse for poor tiling. Make a stream bed where the water dried up and not low water like that.

So over all.
Tiling: 5/10
Tiling to match theme: 1/10

/addon for a drought have a GAT make some dead or dried up trees
//addon Personally I like the Bridge. ;)

One last thing if you post the actual level I'll show you what I mean other wise I'm to busy tonight to make my own outline of a stream with a drought. But I would be happy to give you examples with that.

I see decent lvls (better than most lvls on most servers) and the people who make them are dissed????give them a hand that was a good lvl i agree on the barrels but yall shouldnt go to far when
talking about lvls cause most servers lvls arent as good as that

It's called giving him suggestions on how to improve. No one is dissing him they are just saying what is wrong with the level and telling him how he could fix it.

thesmoothcriminal 07-19-2002 11:04 PM

There are other ppl who dissed me
but anyway i didnt really take the story into consideration
reason for the rocks in the water is that is whats left from being lazy and using the level generator
if your rated please rated with the exclusion of any story or background info
just look and rate :D

In that case. 2/10 for tiling with no story in mind. The two things I like is the bridge and the hide out with vines. Plus the general shape of the river.

Do you mean that there should be cliff tiles [or something else] to make the water look deeper?

Mykel 07-20-2002 01:37 AM

6/10

Anything to make it look like the water level has sunk. Right now the entire stream/river bed is covered. There is no stream/riverbed showing which would be the case in a drought. Where the river dries up. If you look the water goes right to the edges of the bridge. So if that was truly a drought then the bridge would be under water normally.

AlexH 07-20-2002 01:57 AM

Shouldn't use gfx for the trees. There are tiles that can do that same thing.
Building is nice, well the little we can see at least. :)
Bridge is original but arn't those blockable tiles?
Far to many stones and water droplet thingies in the water.
Also too many rocks in paths, lots of people seem to do that. :(
However the grass detail is very nice. :)

Okay, got it. ;)

thanks
the bridge is an image
how can i use not use gfx trees to give the overlapping effect?

SingleChance 07-20-2002 12:26 PM

i think draygin had the best idea for the river to make it look like a drought, about using the sand tiles in it too to look like the river is drying up.

lots of time on your hands...

thesmoothcriminal 07-20-2002 01:34 PM

ok ppl i was lazy with the stream i just used a Editor npc control thing

Devil_Gabbe_Raizan 07-20-2002 08:12 PM

Oh well here it goes:

Dont use npc trees, there are some tiles to the left so you can connect from sides and diagonal. You cannot connect directly straight.
The river, well it looks to fat,oh well that's just me and oh remove some water rocks on it.
The bridge is ok,you just used the wrong tiles for the bridge floor.
What's with the stakes out of nowhere?
Dont use the path generator and then edit. It's a b*tch. Also if you make the path yourself from scratch you will notice that it will look alot nicer, plus more exotic as royce said.
The house is pretty nice.
Remove some clutter.It's way cluttered.
What's with the path that goes into the trees?!
Oh and atleast remove some of the barrels you have.

Overall:2/10
Good potential,need alot of work.
