Points in general are retarded. I don't see why you guys like them.

because it's the only thing at the moment that gives gangs any purpose.

Points are an easy way to quantify gang performance, so that players can then be rewarded for doing well (or even playing at all). Everyone loves being rewarded, and having a number to prove they're the best.

Yeah, but there's never really been anything that gives gangs purpose...just enjoying the pointless fun isn't enough anymore like it used to be.

Because without points gangs don't have any reason at all to do anything. And gangs on Era will go back to being about "raiding" an empty base while all the other gang's members are either off tag or idling in your gang's empty base.
Points also encourage gangs to kill other gang members, rather than picking on noobs. It's a lot easier to kill somebody picking flowers than it is to kill somebody with an M4 running around your gang base, and in the past both players gave the exact same reward: +1 kill stat.

I still think that the point system should be a two-way thing. A gang should be able to reduce another gang's points by occupying their base. It makes defending a must, and adds a bit more strategy to the game.
If a gang is raiding you and they're too strong to defend against, then you could counter-raid and capture their base to nullify the point bonus they're getting from having your base. Or you could raid another gang that you know you're stronger than.

Gangs would start with a set amount of points at the start of the week, and if they reach 0 points at any time during the week then the gang gets a strike. Three strikes and the gang is DELETED.

I would raid non-stop if I knew that by raiding I could literally ****ing destroy the other gang.

it's impossible to make this fair because of time zones.

Also I hate gang points.
Last, buff the deagles reload!!!

I do not think EVERY member should get an overpowered weapon. Before the reset, gang guns were untaglocked and only a select few had them. You had to really know the leader and be a higher up in the gang to get one.

Giving every member an overpowered weapon for such a cheap price makes no sense at all. I like the 5 gun limit because nobody technically owns the gun and can be passed around to all members.

Also, Deagles do not need a buff, they were nerfed because of how overpowered they were.

Create party bases that parties can buy and have as their hideout please, build one deep inside the forest please.

List of Ideas
-Close Era
-Reset Era, then close it.
-Reset Era, close it, and replace it with teletubby land.

I had a rather nice idea in regards to gang guns awhile back, where the leader of the gang would be allowed to use their gangs points to buy gun racks.. said gun rack would have.. 5 guns of the selected gun on the rack which could than be grabbed off the racks by any gang member. Than once the gun is grabbed, the gun would have a timer on of.. 30 minutes to an hour maybe before it was destroyed along with the purchased gun rack. You could also make it so multiple gun racks could be purchased, so if the leader bought 3 gun racks, than there would be the possibility of 15 gang members using the gang gun at once. Idk, just a rough sketch of the idea, but it sounds rather feasible if you ask me. ^^

When the playercount drops below a certain number (20?) points from base occupation could stop counting.
If that fails then just do the Jenn thing and make it time based 6am - 10pm EST or whatever.

Vman13x 06-09-2010 03:56 AM

Lol, you call the deagles overpowered? Look around, There are guns way way better than the deagles even before they were nerfed.

Herb_P2P 06-09-2010 12:39 PM

The TommyGun needs to be nerfed asap. No freeze and ridiculous spread? and over like 20 people have TGs? :\

Why was it buffed in the first place...?

It wasn't buffed.

The TG was definitely buffed from the last time I saw it (which could have been a couple years ago). It's definitely overpowered but the guns system is so broken in terms of "fairness." A lot of guns are more powerful than they should be and a lot of guns should be better.
