Even if it has some new awesome content released, it will mostly drag off players from others server for a moment, not attract anyboy new.
The issue is about graal as a whole and its pricing system.

There's no saving GK. I've come to accept this. It's high time you all do aswell.

Not the WHOLE problem. The current problem with not even getting many new trials is the lack of advertisement. Classic iPhone being in the App Store advertises the application and the server alone tops over 1000 users at a single time quite often. Their entire population, alone, spread out over our PC servers would see an end to the "No new players" threads on the forums, lol. On the PC game, without ourselves being known this is what happens: 3 Oldbies quit (Older, doesn't want to play anymore, etc etc, whatever reason), 0 new people fill the void. It should go: 3 Oldbies quit, 15 other newbies have already overfilled the void because they read about us on <Insert web location>. We need advertisement in this department because as it stands, people are actually embarrassed to say "Come to Graal...I play it..."

Stefan knows about that already I believe, and he's the only one who can change it. Let's spam him?

By hierarchy standards, Stefan shouldn't HAVE to do any of that. It's not his job to do half the things he's handling these days. Unixmad is the Business Director. Where's he at? Stefan's doing not only his own job, but Unixmads job. You could spam Unixmad, but I guarantee you will never get a response...ever!

If any server has the benefit right now when it comes to the pricing system, it's GK(and Zodiac, I think). GK has no observer mode, so players can try the server out to a large degree without the suffocation of the observer mode. Sure, the pricing is still steep, but at least they don't have to deal with observer mode like most other servers.

Just for easter we had 50 people a day. If we had real updates weekly, i think we could easily sustain that.

Maybe if Samurai showed up for their own wars, there'd be a bit more activity.

Unless the embarrassment stems from the lack of players, that's a very contradicting statement.

I neglected to add that part in, but that is pretty much what I mean. It's embarrassing to invite someone to play a game you play that has like 300 players actively playing, not necessarily at the same time either.

Graal isn't embarassing directly because of its playercount, its embarassing because of it's content. Servers with presentable content (Val, Classic, etc) are down while horribly ugly servers like UN, Zodiac, and Era (ya ur tileset is outdated QQ) are on top. Can't really blame the servers though, because there's a lack of develoeprs due to the low playercount. :3

Crimson2005 04-28-2010 03:44 PM

So are the quarterly updates out the window then? Maybe if GK got more attention than updating it 4 times a year there'd be activity; then again it's a struggle to manage 4 updates a year it seems

Gold servers however shouldn't be in the same situation as playerworlds, in relation to being reliant on user contribution for development. There should be funding, raised from both classic subscriptions, gold subscriptions and ofcourse the gelat system, for payed developers who can and will meet deadlines for set projects. That way we aren't left with a manager who has almost no one to manage, who is also restricted in many areas, and has to do it alone mostly; something he can't realistically do to the standard and quantity GK needs while also concentrating on his life.

4 updates a year... It's not good enough but it's all we could manage. 'Could' because we aren't getting them anymore, so we might have to go to 2 or 1 a year...
GK needs fortnightly updates to be honest. That way we go through about 26updates a year. But to replenish the 'buzz', have quaterly's which are big updates - new dungeons, quests etc.

joel34 04-28-2010 03:51 PM

There haven't been any new dungeon in like a year.

The GK management just keeps lowering the bar for themselves and as a result, everyone else has to suffer while the place just stagnates. The fact they couldn't manage 4 updates a year, and the fact that making a windmill move is considered an update, really says a lot about the people in charge.
