The runtime error when closing the game is more complex, seems to have to do with the Vista file shadowing and depends on the filename of the exe. That is normally fixed by installing Graal into a folder that doesn't have spaces in it's name.

i have graal installed here: C:\Graal\Graal4.exe

it's the only game i have that is not in the "Program Files"

It Still randomly crashes. :/ Could it be from a stack overflow of some sort XD

I still would like to get Graal working on XP 64, before I "was" considering getting Vista as my XP 32 failed to run properly anymore on my PC. But seeing this tread, I still think XP 64 would be easiest for me to have at this time.

graal doesn't crash randomly nor does it crash when i open PMs.

go to compatibility and run in Windows XP (SP2) mode and check the box for "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" :edit: AND "Disable Visual Theme"

btw my pc specs:

AMD Athlon 64 Processor XP 3500+
2047 MB RAM

Hmmm interesting
Could you try following: Disable the use of bitmap fonts in the Graal options and try again (uncheck that dpi settings box again) ?

This doesnt make any difference for me

Windows 64bit Business May MSDN release
Geforce 7600gs with NVidia's June 1st Drivers
nForce4 with NVidia's latest drivers
Latest 64bit Realtek '97 drivers

But any of those options shows 0 results for me.

Alure1316 06-23-2007 12:23 AM

@stefan: i disabled bitmap fonts (faster and smoother) and unchecked dpi and then i tried it with disabling visual themes and it doesn't work, crashes when you try to open a PM.

@angel light: oops i forgot to put that i checked visual themes as well. (i'll edit my post)

A 64 XP? You mean 64? The XP series stopped at 3200.

Not that it's relevant :P

Finally some progress with Vista. Question for Stefan. Why exactly can't you get Graal running smooth with Vista? No need to use baby Talk I'll understand what you say. Or is it you fixed it justhavent released the version do to other bugs/errors.

What do you mean by "smooth", I don't follow you. :)
