YaY for friends w/ dsl, boo for stupid dsl companies not supporting my area!

In time I am sure it will, I waited 2 years for cable to come to my area and dialup sure suxed during that time. :frown:

Sweden has excellent broadband so I dont have to worry about moving to some ghetto area out in the middle of nowhere surrounded by hicks without cable

I'd like CD's :D.

I can't keep my computer on for 12 hours, my dad comes in during the night and if anything is on (after around 3:00 or so) he starts throwing a fit and breaking my stuff.

I use AOL and I get unlimited access for $15 dollars a month. Theirs three computers in my house all connected to diff internet accesses so we got like 5 dollars off aol by having Compuserve as well. My parents have Juno on their computer.

And for you who said you've been waiting two years. That's nothing.

I was promised by Adelphia that I would have cable "in 6 months" when we first moved into my house. It's been 6 years. They have finally installed it in, however they won't let us have it yet because "the signal is weak". : /

The CO in my town is DSL ready...too bad I'm not close enough to get it or cable :/ I don't even know exactly how far away I am. I just know its not available where I live. I am cursed with this terrible dialup :(

I am still waiting for cable, dsl or something better than what I have now. Right now I live too far in the country for anything better than 28.8k or less. Crappy SBC....in other words, I am a couple miles from all civilization.
SS of what I have now.

x_x Can't belive they can't supply you with even 56K x_x

Dach 07-08-2004 05:37 PM

aol always says that, mines always around 26000 and I'm on 56k

Spark910 07-08-2004 08:31 PM

Check your modem in controlpanel, some actually have defaults of 28/33Kb but you can make sure they connect at 56K.

Not mine, when it says 26k it means it. That is what I download at, it takes on average about 10 seconds for a IM to go through.
