Thats insane! Why are you paying people to develop for your server? Where do you get this kind of money?

I'd say that 300-400 bucks is actually a pretty low price for a tileset. Not sure how many tiles we're talking of course.

The reason we are "concerned" is because not a lot of server make it. It takes a long time to get any kind of attention to your server (to become classic, hosted, iServer) and spending that kind of money on something that might flop would be a waste.

Side note, in all seriousness, the levels and tiles look great!

Well if I am wasting that much money for Graal, I would make sure it wont just fail ^^.

But thanks for the compliment!

Yeah, and feel free to prove us wrong, if that's what you're willing to do, but I really do think you'll just end up wasting your money.

BlueMelon 09-06-2012 05:51 PM

Even if it does reach hosted/classic... was it worth the hundreds of dollars put into making it?

If it's truly his hobby to command and pay a couple lemmings who do all the work, sure.

Ok however repped me like that, I want to mention:

Yes the idea came up 1 year ago, but how you know the progress is like 10%, did you see it urself? I doubt.
And to clearify this, nobody should tell me how I should waste my money. I dont know why people put their nose in every **** honestly. If you dont want to apply just dont post on this thread and stop repping me for this crap. This is not a Thread where I ask you for ur opinions.

Next posts which has nothing to do with my announcement will be Reported.

Some people are getting nervous Nico, that's all...

Elk 09-07-2012 12:09 PM

Regardless of the selfproclaimed developers knowledge about game design, 10% is still a lot for a game that Nico is planning to create, as I was partially responsible for alot of stuff including concept design, creating assets, and basically everything graphically oriented...

He has already made the right step into looking for developers outside of graal and also offering a little pocketmoney for the effort... A game like this with as few developers that worked on it would have taken atleast 2-3 years for it to be a final polished version...

little Tileset update. Please tell me ur opinion/critism !

Thank you very much.

3 times in ten pages isn't much, but I suppose it only does take once.
On another note, I'll apply. pm me for info.

Scoper, didn't you just get done saying you would never play due to his opinions on the other thread?

Anyways, I don't see the big deal with offering people money for their time. We try this on Valikorlia to a limited degree and it works well, except for when the developer skips town with our cash. I've spent thousands of dollars on Valikorlia over the years. Whether it's buying classic accounts, web hosting, or promoting the community by holding conventions or actually having people live in my house, I think Graal has the opportunity to be more than just a hobby for some.

Frankly, I'm surprised people balk at the idea of working for money, when most replies in threads like these are, "Why should I work for free?" Very strange.

Right, but I didn't want to break his 'don't post if you don't want a job' thing, and how else was I to voice my opinion?

still interested in job and stuff, for sure. pm me.
